Growing up in St. Louis, Brian's musical tastes have grown to embody as many different flavors as the city's music scene itself.
Like "The Lou", his musical exposure expanded over the years, dating back to his father's Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Stones albums.
During his early teens in the late 80s, he was submerged in House, R&B and Hip-hop and the new wave sounds of New Order,
Depeche Mode and the Cure. While in college at the University of Illinois, Brian became dedicated to the sounds of the father's of alt
country, Uncle Tupelo. While in Champaign (and later in Chicago), Brian was the lead singer of 2 different bands, Phat Albert and Go
Tom, with Paul Farahvar. The experience of playing in the larger venues of Chicago (Joes and Cubby Bear, to name a few) equipped
him with an insiders view of band's struggle to gain exposure and perform live. His musical taste ranges from Jeff Buckley to Black Eyed
Peas, the Flaming Lips to Utah Saints, Sinead O'Connor to Metallica. Brian has an ear for music, no matter what the style or genre,
contributing to Shoeshine Boy's promotions and management objectives. Brian also works as a project manager at Accenture.
